Under the supervision of the Child Protection Association Speyer, the little confectioners can bake Christmas cookies. Of course, the home-baked cookies can also be tasted and taken home.

In addition to the traditional Christmas and New Year's market, the project "...simply Christmas in Speyer" will be extended this year with a 2150 ft² skating rink. For this, the place at the Altpörtel offers a dreamlike scenery. The cosy old city gate parlor as well as the different stands invite you to stay and enjoy. Also the nostalgic double-decker children's carousel makes not only children's eyes shine.

In addition to around 300 pairs of skates in various sizes for rental, you can of course also lace up your own skates. However, before entering the rink, the runners must be specially sharpened on site for use on the plastic track.
For guests who are still unsafe on the skating rink, penguins and polar bears are provided as driving aids.

Glistening silver stars, playful golden rain, colorful rockets and a “water carpet” flowing down the historic gate’s tower — those are the hallmarks of the “Old Gate in Flames” exhibition.
The starry rain is accentuated with suitable music, sometimes classical, sometimes modern. Thousands of visitors pour into Maximilian Street every year to see this light, music and fireworks spectacular.

On all Advent weekends in the courtyard of the town hall and cultural courtyard at the Flachsgasse.
